Gorilla Tracking at Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Day 1: Kampala-Bwindi National park.

After breakfast, you will leave Kampala for Bwindi Impenetrable National park; home to at least 450 mountain gorillas. The drive will take about 6 to 8 hours on dusty, bumpy and ragged terrain safari roads. Lunch en route, arriving at the park in the evening. Dinner and overnight at at Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Tracking and Trekking.

7am; you will attend a compulsory briefing at park headquarters by the game rangers. Taking with you packed lunch and water. Expect to know about the history of the park, dos and don’ts of gorilla trackers. Afterwards, you will then be divided into separate groups to track through the tropical forest searching for the rare apes. On reaching the last spot where the gorillas had been the previous day, you will start trekking them, and when you meet them, you will be allowed to spend just one hour of following them, watching them and taking memorable photo. The activity will take up most part of the day. Return to Gorilla Forest Camp or Buhoma Lodge for resting, dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Bwindi- Kampala

After breakfast, depart for Kampala. Stop over at Mbarara for a brief Ankole Cultural tour. Lunch en route. Time allowing, you may visit Buwama Crocodile Farm located along Masaka-kampala road.
